Latest celebrity trend in Indonesia right now: Selling cakes!

Not particularly a bakery with choices of cake or dessert, they sell cake as hand gift (or what we called it oleh-oleh) in city across Indonesia. Since the trend has spread quickly among celeb, no wonder public interest begin to arise. Tons of backlash are swarming on the internet while some people left a supportive opinion.  One said these celebs are diminishing local producers market, the other said they only selling fame instead of quality. But I think what these celebs is trying to do is very positive and inspiring, rather than spending their money for the bad things they choose to collaborate and making people's tummy very happy (especially mine😜)

Strudel Malang: Apple

As an avid instagramers, my explore is full of endorsement for these cakes and somehow I ended up bought some 😜 (Strudel Malang by Teuku Wisnu and Snowcake by Zaskia Sungkar).

Here are my reviews for these brands:

1. Strudel Malang by Teuku Wisnu

I got the Apple and Choco Banana (classic) and Green Tea (premium). Difference between classic and premium is classic looks like above picture whilst premium is a pound cake sandwiched by puff pastries. Sorry I forgot to took a picture but it looked similar with Snowcake. Apple Classic tasted just like apple pie and choco banana has a sweet banana-chocolatey feel like Kartika Sari Molen Coklat. Not a fan of the premium one, but for your reference: it is not that bad! I just prefer the classic since it feels like a comfort food and match better with tea or coffee.

What I love more from Strudel Malang is the fact that Strudel Malang is the pioneer of celeb's oleh-oleh cake and at that time Teuku Wisnu got questioned by so many people because this business didn't look that fancy (who knows later this idea is such a hit!). Their stores in Malang also sell variety of oleh-oleh from local producers which I think it's amazing to have such collaboration to support the each other.

2. Snowcake

Pretty, sweet and smells good! It's like a cake version of Snow Princess💕

I love the sweetness of the cream that blended really well with the soft spikoe cake. Both Choco Banana and Green Tea has their own uniqueness but personally I love Choco Banana better. Compared to Strudel's Green Tea, Snowcake green tea definitely taste better.
