Singapore with the Girls

Earlier this year, one of my officemate was assigned to Singapore so we (me, Kei and Juju) decided to visit her (and of course her 3 bedroom apartment😜) and have some weekend getaway. This is the first time where we travel as three after our 3 years of friendship. Can you imagine all the gossip and cheap talk during this trip? hahaha.

1. Night flight with Jetstar #DAY-1
Jetstar is my favorite LCC at the moment. Comfy interior, nice flight attendant and great atmosphere. It is hard to describe what great atmosphere means, but other LCC somehow has that kind of coach-y feeling and ignorant FA unlike Jetstar.

We departed at 9:35 pm so we went straight to the airport from our office in Sudirman area right after my Maghrib prayer and arrived in Singapore at 00:30 midnight. Then took a cab for SGD 20 to Bedok.

Everytime I went to Singapore I always stayed at hotels around Orchard, Bugis or Marina. So this time I had my own Singaporean moment for staying in Singapore residential area (halu dikit boleh lahh wkwk).

If you guys need a place or in search for a nice apartment in Singapore you can search "Bedok Residences". Located right above Bedok MRT station and Bedok Mall so everything you need is just one step away (why I sounded like a property marketing? πŸ˜†).

2. Strolling around the city #DAY1

We went to Bugis in the morning to buy SIM card (we can buy it everywhere though) at Seven Eleven in Bugis then taking a bus to Beach Road bus stop. Funny thing is, we took the wrong route! Instead of stopping right away, we were waiting inside the bus in case the they only rerouting. After 15 minutes, the driver told us that the bus would not stop at the beach road πŸ˜‚ So we get off at Novena and running like crazy to take the other same number bus (see my vlog https://youtu.be/qRvpgrjOKlA to prove it 😜).

Arrived in beach road, we went directly to Haji Lane and Kampong Glam. Basically all three of them is in the same area and Bugis street is just 15 minutes away by foot! Better for you to walk a little bit  from Bugis MRT station if you want to visit Haji Lane (taking bus number 980 also possible, but Singapore is pedestrian heaven why bother take a risk like us? haha).
My ootd moment in Haji Lane
Next is Chinatown! Our main reason why we want to visit Chinatown is for the Chicken Rice! Tian-tian Chicken Rice is no doubt one of the Best Chicken Rice in town based on most of food bloggers review. Located in Maxwell Food Centre, Tian-tian Chicken Rice always have a long people line up especially at lunch time so would be better if you come at 2pm onwards.

Chicken Rice: SGD 7

How to get there:
Maxwell Food Centre: 1 Kadayanallur Street, Singapore (MRT Chinatown, exit A to Pagoda Street)
Maxwell is a semi-outdoor foodcourt and often used as employees lunch place. It's very busy on weekdays and lunch time.  When disembark MRT, take exit A for direct way (you'll detour like me if you use other Chinatown MRT Station exit).
The Infamous Chicken Rice

We also exploring Orchard Road, Marina Bay Sands, Art Science Museum and Tanjong Pagar for late night snack. Truthfully honest with you, Art Science Museum is not that special. Better if you use the time to explore Singapore's district and use the SGD 17 for grab some delicious Singaporean dish😍

Oh ya! If you want to hang out after office like Singaporean, go to Tanjong Pagar area. You can disembark at Tanjong Pagar or Tell Ayer MRT Station.

3. Universal Studios! #DAY2
I have a confession to make....... I've never been to USS! hahahahaha.

When accompanied my mom for her treatment I haven't got any time and no money (jobless and brokeπŸ˜”), when traveling with my brothers: still broke as hell πŸ˜†, when extend from business trip: doesn't want to waste any time and preferred to wander around the city instead.

If you asked me USS compare to Disneyland? USS rides is slightly better than Disneyland HK and Japan but nothing compared to what Disneysea have 😜. ps: dunno why, but I love dufan moreπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Important Things You Need To Know Before USS:
1. Bring small bag (backpack is preferable)
Most of the ride requires you to put your belongings in the locker. Keep it simple!
2. Buy Ticket Online
Cost you cheaper than counter rate
3. Bring Water Bottle (or snacks!)
I'm not sure if I forgot Disneylands prices, but I think USS foods and snacks is too expensive. Better you bring something since they didn't check your bags at the entrance.
4. Queue the famous ride on certain time (for example: lunch time).
Always check the queuing time before you enter the ride, if the famous ride queuing time is 2 hours at 11am it could be less than than at 1pm. Be smart.
5. Don't be trapped in a certain ride.
Explore all and have fun!

4. Singaporean Style Brunch #DAY3
Since our flight is at noon, we only have time for a brunch. So we use it to brunch like Singaporean hahahaha. After much deliberation (and a little arguments with Uncle Taxi Driver) between Tiong Bahru Bakery and Toby's Estate Coffee, we decided to have brunch at Toby's.

How to get there:
Toby's Estate Coffee:8 Rodyk Street, #01-03/04 (Use Taxi or Uber).
Toby's located in a nice area by the river. If you want, you can jog from your hotel to Rodyk Street and have a nice exercise before enjoying their delicious brunch. (See my vlog for more https://youtu.be/qRvpgrjOKlA)

COST AND IMPORTANT NOTES
- Jetstar Flight Ticket
JKT-SIN (7 May): 21:35 - 00:25
SIN-JKT (4 May): 13:35 - 14:30

Cost : IDR 1,250k / pax (no baggage)
Additional 25kg baggage: IDR 378k

We bought the ticket through Traveloka on Mar 31

- Universal Studio Singapore Ticket
You can purchase USS tickets directly on the spot for SGD 76 or pre-purchased online for better price.

Here are linked to buy USS ticket online:
Traveloka: https://www.traveloka.com/en/activities (Make sure you use promo code. They have various promotion that you can get in certain days/ event. Juliet got IDR 100k off)

Wisata Singapura: http://www.wisatasingapura.web.id
(Kei and I bought our tickets here for IDR 579k)

- Buy EZ link card on your first day.
Back then, I don't really favor buying metro card or like. I prefer to queued the ticket machine on each trip so I don't have to maintain the balance or withdrawn the remaining balance and deposit on my last day. Now I am like "How stupid I was! Queueing for each trip is more exhausting than collecting deposit!"

Especially if you are Indonesian, EZ link is a must! What you have to do is only tap tap tap for both MRT and busses. For this trip, I topped up the balance to SGD 20 and I think they were some dollars left. You'll definitely go to Singapore again and this card expires in years. Sometimes I lend this card to my friend if I don't travel.

- Buy tourist SIM card at Convenience Store.
Most Indonesian telecommunication providers offer data package in Singapore and as a HALO user I WILL NEVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN! Not that their service is bad, it is just we cannot get that payment guarantee if we use this service. For example, in average they sell data roaming around IDR 150k for 3 days and this only applied for data only so you have to be extra careful on your phone setting. Receiving calls or texts could cost you more bucks. That's why I always buy local SIM card, simple and harm free.

With SGD 15, I can enjoy full internet coverage to satisfy my inner social media addict.

Sorry Rihanna, I did it first πŸ™„

My name is Rininta. But since I was a baby, everyone is calling me Riri. My uncle gave me the name because he think Rininta is too long. Indonesian could easily spells Riri and it sounds right. As for foreigner, the it changed into "WiWi" and I kinda not like it. So here I tell me to call me Rininta. Most people don't argue, but some are trying to made their own shorter version of my name. "Can I call you Rini?" Okay. Some people do that in Indonesia. "Can I call you Rina?" Hmm. That's new. It's actually my mother's name. Still interesting. Annnnddddddd today! "Can I call you Riri?" "Wow, my name is actually Riri!" I got excited. "What?" He said. "I mean, my nickname is actually Riri. Everyone's in Indonesia call me that way" "Riri as in RiRi Rihanna?" Uh. Please. Not again. "Yes. RiRi. Just like Rihanna" πŸ˜’ "But sawrryy. I did it first. W...

The Idea of Mr. Right

Today at lunch, I got together with my management trainee friends. We rarely met, but when we do we can talked about anything from the most important to the most ridiculous topic. Marriage topic came up (as usual) and suddenly they were talking about mine. Guessing my wedding venue, talking about how big it would be, and other stupid fantasy. I stopped them in the midway and asked  "Guys guys. Before we get there, how if we find the candidate first? You know how desperate I am rite? Don't you see my instastory post?" (My Intagram post is always staged and glamorized. But my instastoryyy? Pheew, even my best friend felt ashamed to have a friends like me hahahaha.) One of my craziest guy-friend said I will met soooo many potential candidate in London and most likely I will end up with one of 'someone important' son. Since there are abundance rich son who study there. In contrary with him, Juju spontaneously said "I don't think so. I thi...

What Do I Want?

I hope someone can tell me what do I want right now? What is my heart yearning for? I am a long time dreamer. I’ve dreamt about being an entrepreneur since I was 17. I chose my major becuase of this, I chose not to apply for job after college because of this, I chose to invest most of my time procrastinating about this. I WAS HAPPY. I got my first chance to realizing my dream, starting a small retail ventures in fast fashion. Highly involved on the end-to-end supply chain process: choosing fabric, concepting, designing, vendor management, selling, marketing, to warehousing. I admit the venture was inefficient, it was high cost high labor low margin. But I WAS HAPPY. Sadly the venture failed. Mismanagement, unprepared, lack of discipline. I think these three reason has described the main background of the failure very well. I try to avoid the word “failure”, but today I have to admit the defeat and moving on. Then I got a chance to work in a company. At that time my condition wasn’t ide...
